Rev. David L. Kinsey, 33° of Pittsburgh, PA, served as Potentate of Syria Temple in 2006. He is Chaplain Emeritus of Syria, Imperial Chaplains Committee, and Grand Chaplain of Pennsylvania.

In 1958, at the age of 22, Noble Kinsey was made a Master Mason in South Hills Lodge 761. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. While stationed at Fort Hood, TX, Kinsey received his 32nd degree in the Southern Jurisdiction, Valley of Waco, TX, April 24, 1965. On this same day, he became a Shriner at Karem Temple, Waco, TX. Following discharge from military service, Kinsey returned to work for General Electric. His assignments with GE were in numerous cities on the East Coast. During his two year stay in York, he transferred his Shrine membership to Zembo Temple, Harrisburg.

Noble Kinsey returned to Pittsburgh in July of 1969 when he and his father purchased Moorhead Electrical Machinery Corp. His father was a 32nd Scottish Rite Member and received his 50 year pin before he died in 1975. Noble Kinsey continues to operate the business as President, of Kinsey Electric, Inc., in Oakdale, PA. Shortly after arriving in Pittsburgh, Kinsey transferred his Scottish Rite Membership to the Valley of Pittsburgh and his Shrine Membership to Syria.

In 1972, he began his studies which would lead to his ordination as a priest in 1978. He retired from St. Thomas Episcopal Church in 1994 having served the congregation for 25 years. He served this congregation in conjunction with operating Kinsey Electric. In 1985 Kinsey was named as "Clergy Person of the Year". When Kinsey retired from full time ministry, he received a Citation of Achievement from the House of Representatives from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Another highlight of his ministry was to attend the Billy Graham School of Evangelism in Lake Louise, Canada in October of 1998 and Rev. Dr John Maxwell's Leadership School in Atlanta, Ga in 2005. He continues to attend seminars to further his education in conflict management and spirituality.

In 1972, Kinsey, together with his friend Sonny Clark, began Southwest Aviation. There he received his Private and Instrument Pilots License. For two years they operated the largest flight school in Western Pennsylvania.

Noble Kinsey's company was featured on the cover of Electric Apparatus Magazine in 1982. In addition, he was featured on the front page of the Pittsburgh Business Times in 1985.

Kinsey is a member of South Hills Masonic Lodge 761, Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh, York Rite, Syria Shrine, Knights Templar, Royal Order of Scotland, Syria Shrine Caravan 2, and 20, Jesters Court #2, Syria Clowns, Three Rivers Clan #53, Lifetime Member - Flying Fezzes & Legion of Honor.

Rev David Kinsey served as a Staff Sgt and a 1st Lt in the United States Army.

In 2000 Kinsey received his 33rd degree. Brother Kinsey has been invited to deliver the Keynote Address at numerous events. In addition to his activities he, together with a team of Nine Presenters, conducts Leadership Training in Tampa, Florida for Board of Director members of the 191 Shrine Centers.
